Light house at Kuata Terengganu

A lighthouse at kuala Sungai Terengganu

We used to travel to Kuala Terengganu when Muhammad Ibrahim was at MRSM KT. Astaka was one of the places we used to go shopping. During on one of our visits we noticed there was an old light just behind the shopping complex. On old light house which aided seafarers years ago, now becomes an interesting mark at kuala Sungai Terengganu, at least for photographers.

Lighthouse has alway been an interesting object of photography . A white color monument with a blue sky, brown or green cliff, huge rocks, eagles, osprey, ships/boats/yatch in the background. Mine is just a simple composition with the blue sky and white clouds.

What i have learned from this session is that its not easy for us to get what we dream or wish for. We can dream or detail for a perfect scenerio but that is just theoretical. Even if what we hope for is in front of our eyes, do we have the means or the right moment to capture it. It applies to alot of things in our daily life.

Wallahu 'alam.

Great picture. Very pleasing to the eye. And somehow I feel you have captured the essence of the scene with your words. Food for thought!

Indeed very pleasing to the eyes. Unfortunately, I cannot give my comments like some of you guys here can - going into the details with all those technical terms.

If it's me taking the shot, I would always have somebody to stand in front of whatever nice background I want to capture.

does this photography interest runs in your family? iFos takes such good pictures as well, and the rest of the clan give such fascinating comments too (esp paul moss!).

What can I say? The lighthouse is great, the sky is great, the light is good although you could have woken up earliar for a softer morning light and make it great. You have good control of your camera. People like the image so you must be Mawi then because I don`t think it`s so great. It`s good but not great. I think it`s a lazy composition. It could be outstanding but to be outstanding need the extra effort but it`s not there. The image look awkward and it doesn`t inspire any story. The 2 lamp post accompanying the structure does make it stronger but not enough. Non photographers will ask what story? Well let`s just imagine our Muhammad Ibrahim wears a red shirt and white pants and enters the frame from the left, walks towards the light house and Ikelah shoots just as he passes over the object(is that a litter box) on the far left. Now what sort of questions would that sort of image raise? Or an unattended old bicycle also on the left side. Why on the left side? Because it`s empty and it serves no purpose by being empty. So you must fill it with something more to strengthen the message or it will just be a good image.
How I wish there are some seagulls there. O my! My homeland!

Oitts Paul Moss! Ceh! Kalau bersuara, mengalah Tun Mahathir! Ingat senang ke nak kompose gambor tuh? Muhammad Ibrahim keletihan dalam kereta, mana lah nak bergambor. Seagulls pulak tgh tidor.

i don`t know jennifer lopez can speak malay? Jenny, since you are here, I`ll just say you should focus on acting and not go too crazy over this versatility crap so popoular now in Malaysia. Improve your acting and be more than a maid. Singing is just not for you visa versa.
Well Jenny, I did say it`s a lazy composition. Yes it`s good enough to enter a competetion and even make it to the finals and may also win but only if the other entries are what i`ve seen so far these few weeks. These people can`t be satisfied with good images all the time. They are now asking for better ones. Something enchanting, mesmerizing. Something that can make their mind wander in wonderland. You were almost almost there and just as I was saying you made it, you didn`t. It was soooo near but the bicycle and muhammad ibrahim was too heavy and the composition doesn`t seem so important then. I just hope now it is.

Wow Paul Moss. I LOVE your comments....cuts like a knife. Those who take heed (and not take heart) of your comments can easily sail through and emerge Champion.

But if it was me getting those razor sharp criticisms, I think I will just die bleeding. Sekarang naik takut pula nak post pictures !! ;(

Hey Man! Watch your words Paul Moss! That's my woman you're belittling! She can sing, she can act and dance if whe wants too. She IS versatile! Paul, bila nak balik NZ?

Pycno- FYI, si Paul Moss ni, has lived half his life in Istanbul, where the people just admire those who have a critical mind, are bold and speaks their mind. If you plan on holidaying in Istanbul, carilah Paul Moss a.k.a. Boogey nih.

Anonymous said...

Oh that's good. I've always wanted to see Istanbul. Perhaps some write-up on that Paul, or would you rather me call you Boogey.

To be honest I am quite lost with all the actors and actresses around here. Pandai sungguh ke semua ni berlakon, atau bila betul-betul depan kamera, kaku macam batu??

i think paul had not understood my entry. i had written that a lighthouse was always a favourite subject with, eagles, osprey( macam seagull gak la) etc.

kindly read my entry properly again(its self explained).

for other commenters, thanks for giving encouring remarks. see all of u after 10 days.

wsssalam.

Nope. I don`t understand.
Non copisco prefevore repeta. I understand the eagles, the osprey, seagulls or maybe a cloud with the shape of Osama`s face will make the image more interesting and I understand you can only get them if you have the time to wait. Wait for all the elements to be there and it can take a long time.
If you don`t have the time to wait for all these, you create with whatever you have. If you can`t wait for seagulls, you ask Muhammad Ibrahim to pretend as a red sea gull and take a short walk. But it`s not done. So...it`s a lazy composition. Kapish.
In Pakistan, take lots of drama potrait for me with the d50. Waste it and we really haveto consider mercy killing the d50. Bon voyage.
