i don't understand the whole meaning of the song but the melody is so sad.
i dont understand either.
the name of the song is anak yatim by Rafly. it tells the story of the misfortune of the acheh people. the adults dead due to the ongoing war and disaster leaving thousands of anak yatim.
the culture of acheh people, when the boys reach puberty, they were sent to stay at pondoks, learning islamic studies etc. they are used to live without their parents around. they are independent. just look at their face, how fast they recover from grief.

hukum bak sheikh kuala
bijak bak puteri pahang
resam bak datok laksamana
So Nisak, moral of story, wherever or whatever the situation, perempuan Pahang jugak yang disanjung! haha

sheikh kuala is their greatest ulama' whose makam survived the tsunami. only the fence slightly destroyed. it lies about 50m from the sea.
bijak bak puteri pahang
puteri pahang was iskanda muda's wife. he claimed her with a number of orang Pekan, pahang when they bombarded pahang. she was exraordinary intelligent that she was refered for advice by the ministers even after the death of iskandar muda.
resam bak datok laksamana
they are not sure which laksamana but most likely refered to Malahayati a lady admiral during iskandar muda. she was the one who lead the fleet to invade johore and pahang, bombarded malacca under the portugese, hit the siamese. they named their port after her, Malahayati.
Begitulah adilnya peninggalan iskandar muda yang membentuk pemikiran rakyat acheh yang tidak membezakan lelaki dan perempuan.
the acheh ulamaks even select queen to rule acheh when the found that the men were less suitable, of course guided by the ulamaks. they have at least 4 great queen rulers.
